Making some wood boxes

I set out to learn some wood-working basics, and decided to start with the basics: Boxes and wood joining techniques! Being me, i had to include some electronics. I decided to make one of the boxes appear to “hover”, as well as seemingly having a floating lid.

The floating of the box itself did not work so well because the legs block the even glow on the underside
