Making a Golden Gun, N64 edition

I was going to a gaming themed costume party, which happened to be right after a suit-and-tie event that night. I was considering what character i could be, and decided to be a suit-dressed guy from the Nintendo 64 game “Golden Eye”, wielding the Golden Gun. This build was done in a couple of hours, using mostly balsa wood, cardboard and hot glue.

The handle was made out of an empty toilet paper roll, which I squished. Then I “filled” the ends with some cut out cardboard, and hot-glued it together.

The main part of the gun was made out of balsa wood, which i cut out and glued together with hot glue. A pen cap was inserted to make it easy to attach the pen “barrel”. A trigger was made out of balsa wood, and attached with a pen spring. This makes it act like a normal trigger.

I used gold hobby paint to paint it all in gold color.
